The Language of Flowers

20 min watercolour pencils in A4 sketchbook.
Carnations are said to represent friendship - in Victorian times the flowers that you sent had a message of their own depending upon the variety.

Friendship needs caring for the same as a flower - if neglected, it withers. In order for a friendship to thrive we must nurture it and each work at giving it life.

A recent lost friendship saddened me, but both parties must want to keep the friendship alive and if the other party turns their back what can you do but move on.

  1. Hi,

Here in Portugal the carnations were the flower used in the 1974's peaceful (more or less) revolution.
Soldiers wore those in the barrels, given by the population.

    Kind regards,

    José
