Same but Different

Orange Peel ink and watercolour wash in small sketchbook 15 min

I love that citrus smell of a freshly peeled orange.

The juice made from the orange ink and wash 15 min

Things have to be altered so we can enjoy them in another way. They are not lost, just different.

Church over the River

20 min sketch
Morning sunlight contrasting with strong shadow on this church across the river caught my attention and I just had to capture it in this quick sketch.
The weather here is better - more sunshine even though the wind is still cold - it cheers the heart. Spring is here! Yay!!!!

Cappuccino Moment

15 min wc pencil in sketchbook - Cappuccino

It would seem I spend an awful lot of time in Costa Coffee recently, but it is such a good way to relax and watch the shoppers whilst enjoying a real yummy hot drink!
Cappuccino Moments are what gets me through the day. :)

Organiser

25 mins watersoluble pencil in sketchbook (smooth paper)

Becoming organised is not an easy process for one of an impetuous nature - but the time soon comes when chaos needs to be tidied at least in some areas. Time for a Spring clean - everything has a place and everything in it's place.

15 min w/c pencil in sketchbook

How wonderful to enjoy a break in the chaos that is life just to drink in the surroundings and feel the tension melt away.

Studying Other Artists

Oils on canvas paper 50 min study of Nathan Altman's painting which I saw at the Russian Exhibition in London last year. Still plenty to do on this but it was great practice for me. This one is not strictly in keeping with the premise of this blog - to do sketches and paintings from life -but sometimes it is really worthwhile to study the work of others in this way.

Then in our souls there seems to languish
A tender grief that is not woe;
And thoughts that once wrung groans of anguish,
Now cause but some mild tears to flow. (Charlotte Bronte)

20 min watercolour pencil in Moleskine sketchbook.

I adore this little teddy with his scarf and hat, all wrapped up against the cold. He looks kind of cosy, doesn't he?

As long as you wrap up warm, even the coldest weather can be endured. It's simply a question of being prepared.

Sunday Walk

Very quick sketch.

Sunday Walk on the Norfolk coast - people watching - my favourite past-time in my favourite location.

Sorry the dog looks like a pig on a lead! LOL Had to hurry, people were moving so fast because of the cold weather.

My fingers went numb, but I had a great time nevertheless.
